It seems harder than ever today to find serious reporting and wholly (or mostly) unbiased coverage of events, specifically in the political area. Turn on Fox on listen to Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, or Glenn Beck spew racism, sexism, and whatever other forms of close-mindedness they decide to mix up. On the other hand, turn on MSNBC and listen to Maddow and Olbermann scream about oppression, racism, sexism, and whatever else angers them until their overfed egos run out of steam.
Now, pundits might say that my assessments are infringing on their first amendment rights; that they have the right to say nearly whatever they want. Well this is true, they do hold a level of responsibility for the results of their actions, and while they may not care about their responsibility, they at the very least must come to a realization that many people rely on them to tell them what to do. It is a sad situation, but if they feel so strongly about their convictions, they should want to be informative, rather than limiting. In a way, the actions of these sorts of people are Stalin-esque. They make false claims about adversaries, lead people to quote and believe false information, and end up creating a world worse than the one they entered.
Perhaps if people were watching for pure entertainment value, this would all be moot. But they aren't, and that has only given false prophet-ism to these hate mongers, liars, and social dividers.
